Our
Story

A College Station native, I graduated from A&M Consolidated High School, and a week later, I followed my family tradition of enlisting in the US Army.

I went from cap and gown to fatigue and boot camp. I proudly served home and abroad, experiencing more than I could have ever imagined.

Today, my mission is to take the lessons of hard work that my family taught me and my dedication to service that the Army instilled in me to provide my community with the best Texas BBQ possible. 1775 Texas Pit BBQ gets its name from the birth year of the Army.

The Continental Congress established the nation's military - first with the Continental Army, followed shortly by the Navy, then the Marines in 1775. The restaurant is our small way to honor the men and women who have worn the uniforms in defense of our great country.

It is both a blessing and a privilege that I am able to live out my passion of cooking BBQ for folks all across Texas and the US alongside the people who have been there from the start - my family. We truly have made this into a family affair. My brother, Brandon, and I are responsible for smoking the meat, my mom, Belinda, is the master of the sides and desserts, Brandon's wife, Glenda, helps get things out the window in a timely manner, and my Dad, Mark, keeps things orderly outside, and greets people with a friendly smile when they arrive. We can't wait to see you out at 1775 and give you a little taste of what Texas has to offer!
